Updating the Arvada Chamber of Commerce
The City of Arvada owns and maintains a historic home in Olde Town Arvada where both the Arvada Chamber and the Arvada Visitors Center reside. The building was scheduled for maintenance and the Chamber hired Spark Interiors to freshen up the space. Once we began, however, we saw how the building could be transformed into a truly welcoming visitor center and more productive work space for the Chamber. We presented our design ideas to the Board of Directors who loved it so much they approved our budget and granted additional funding, as well.
Our overhaul began with removing and relocating walls and removing the grid-paneled, dropped ceiling. This additional 12” of clearance helped to make the space feel much more open. We updated the lighting and flooring, had custom brochure racks fabricated, and then added new, commercial furniture in a bright turquoise hue.
All artwork in the space is Arvada photography and was curated by Spark Interiors and provided by the Arvada Historical Society or the Visitors Center. These historical photos and a wall mural of Olde Town Arvada demonstrate the Chamber’s rich history, while a business-card-display wall conveys the progress and economic influence of the organization.
Three of the Chamber offices were in the attic of the home which presented space planning challenges, as each of the offices had pitched ceilings. However, we were able to ensure that every staff member has a height-adjustable desk, guest seating, and storage. In fact, these attic offices became quite comfortable.
This project with the Arvada Chamber was especially gratifying for Spark Interiors because our ideas came to life in a way that the entire community can enjoy. We got to know the Chamber staff very well through the process and we made friends for life.
